Good Morning!
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tigers R Update: Students, we need you to focus your attention on making certain you are getting to campus on time each morning. The count for Goal #1, tardies, is on Day13. The count for Goal #2, zero fights, is on Day 10. Please work hard to resolve your conflicts peacefully. Your teachers, counselors and administrators are available. As for Goal #3, reducing disrespectful, defiant behavior referrals, you are on track and are on Day 43! Keep working on being respectful, responsible, and ready every day at Auburn Junior High School
Today is the last day to register for the PSAT! If you are interested in taking it, you must sign up in the Counselor’s Office by 3:15 p.m. on Friday, October 10. Cost is $13.00, and the test is open to all 9th grade students and 8th grade Algebra and Geometry students.
Picture orders
are due on today. Please remember that only checks or money orders made out to
Joe McEachern Photography are accepted, no cash. Be sure and fill out the order
envelope completely before turning it in to your English/Language Arts teacher.

Students: All after school tutoring positions have been filled. Any students whose forms are turned in after October 6th will be placed on a waiting list and will be notified as soon as a position is available. Thank you for your interest and participation in this program.
Students: Be sure to work on your entries for the Reflections contest sponsored by our PTA. Details are available from your teachers and Office 1104. The theme for this year is “Wow!”
The 2008 FACES Festival will be held on October 25 at Ogletree Elementary School. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Entry fees are $15.00 per-registered runners and $20.00 the day of the run. Events include a 5k run/walk, kid 1 mile/walk, and games for children. T-shirts will be awarded for all runners with paid registration. Prizes will be awarded to the top 25 finishers.
CLUB NEWS
Students: Bagels and Books will meet next Tuesday morning, October 14th, at 7:10 a.m. in the Media Center. We will also begin an afternoon book club, Brownies and Books, that will meet that afternoon from 3:15-4:00 p.m.
The Auburn High Science Club will meet on Monday, October 13 from 7 - 8pm in the Multi Media Room at AHS. There will be a program presented by a guest speaker. Details of the program are pending. Students can still join Science Club at the meeting or see Mr. Arington in room 305 after school. Dues are $5.00.
SPORTS NEWS
Congratulations to our 8th Grade Tigers on their defeat of Wacoochee (Smith Station) 12-7 last night. Khalel Leonard had a touchdown. Noro Datiri had an interception for a touchdown. MarQuen Mitchell had an interception. Way to go, Tigers!
The 9th grade football game against Russell County has been moved from Monday night to Tuesday night at 5:30 next week at Russell County.
JH girls basketball tryouts will be held Oct. 13th- Oct.15th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at AJHS Gym. Attendance at each day of tryouts is MANDATORY in order to be considered for the team. You must have a current physical on file at the AHS Athletic Dept. before you can try out.
Girls Varsity and JV Basketball Fall Tryouts will be held Oct 13-15 in the Auburn Junior High School Gym from 3:30-5:00pm. Fall Tryouts are open to all girls who didn’t get a chance to tryout in the Spring. All girls interested in trying out must have a current physical, insurance waiver and medical release form on file in the Athletic Dept.
