Family And Consumer Sciences is the Career and Technical Education program that links high school to work careers, allowing students to have hands on experience for better preparation for the real world. Career Tech Leads to Careers The Alabama Career and Technical Education Department has accepted and implemented a new course of study for all Career Tech programs in order to help guide students and their parents to careers of interest. The Family and Consumer Sciences Program has adopted 3 Career Clusters: Education and Training, Human Services, and Hospitality and Tourism. |
At AHS, our Culinary Arts classes fall under the Hospitality and Tourism cluster. In this cluster, students are geared to Career Pathways in the Hospitality and Tourism Industries. We mainly focus on the jobs in Restaurant and Beverage Services and Culinary Arts. Some of these jobs might include: Hotel and Restaurant Manager, | Chef, Cooks, plus many more. However, it does not stop there. Students can prepare for their future, whether in the Food Industry or not, by taking any of the courses offered at AHS they will gain skills that can be used in everyday of their life. |
