ANNOUNCEMENTS

We are in the process of checking GPAs for possible new members.

If you meet the criteria, you will receive a letter in January 2009.

No ceremony will take place this Spring due to construction on the auditorium.

IMPORTANT DATES

No chapter meetings have been scheduled for Fall 2008.

Membership invitations will be issued in January 2009.

WHAT IS MAΘ?

Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society with over 75,000 student members in more than 1,500 schools. We are dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject ,and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students.

HOW TO JOIN

In order to be considered for membership, a student must fulfill these requirements:

1.  Completion of Algebra IA and IB, Geometry, Algebra II w/Trig

2.  Enrollment in Algebra III with Stats or Precalculus

3.  At least a 3.5 Grade Point Average in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II w/Trig

If you have reached these requirements, you will receive a letter of notification that you have fulfilled the eligibility requirements and an invitation to join.

The membership induction ceremony is held each Spring Semester.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

Pay Membership Fee of $10 per year

Attend Initiation Ceremony in the Spring

Attend Chapter Meetings

Vote in Chapter Elections
