Introduction: The apple is one of the most popular fruits of them all. You may have even had one at lunch today, but did you know that there are hundreds of varieties, or kinds, of apples? Did you know that apples can be used to make several different foods? You have probably heard of Johnny Appleseed, but do you know the truth and the legends about his life? Come and learn all these things and more on our AppleQuest!

The Task:

• Use the internet to find and record information on the different varieties of apples.
• Track down information on the internet about Johnny Appleseed and complete clues about his life in order to uncover a hidden message and to write a new tall tale about his journeys.

1. Get the  Varieties of Apples Chart.from the apple folder. 
2. Go to this  website titled Washington Apples -- Apple Varieties.
3. Complete the Varieties of Apples Chart. Click on the nam of the apple to find the needed information; then click the "back" button to return to the page containing all the apple varieties.

JOHNNY APPLESEED

1. Get out the Clues about Johnny Appleseed's Life page.
2. Go to the website Apple Juice on the Internet - Johnny Appleseed to find the answers to the Clues about Johnny Appleseed's Life.
3. Although Johnny Appleseed was a real person, many exaggerated stories or tall tales have been told about him.
