    New Campuses constructed since 2013:

    • Pick Elementary - opened in 2013 with a capacity for 600 students.
    • Auburn High School - opened in 2017 with a capacity for 2,200 students.
    • Creekside Elementary - opened in 2018 with a capacity for 600 students.
    • Cary Woods Elementary - opened in 2020 with a capacity for 600 students.
    • J.F. Drake Middle School – opened in 2020 with a capacity for 1,000 students.
    • Woodland Pines Elementary - opened in 2023 with a capacity for 600 students.

    Technology:

     - All teachers and administrators in the school system have Apple Macbooks in an effort to be able to work on both Windows and Mac platforms.

    - 1:1 iPad initiative for all students at Auburn High School and Auburn Junior High School (3,330 iPads total rolled out in summer 2018).

    - First SMART Showcase District in the country with SMART Panels in every classroom (interactive flat panel touch-screen monitors that serve as modern-day chalkboards).

    ALSDE Alabama Teacher of the Year (2021-2022):

    - Kimberly Johnson (AJHS) - Overall State Winner.

    Rezoning:

    - In 2013 ACS shifted to a model of having eight elementary schools with four K-2 facilities that feed into four 3-5 facilities. In 2018 the school system further rezoned to accommodate the opening of Creekside Elementary and in 2023 with the opening of Woodland Pines Elementary School. The system now has 10 elementary facilities.
